Finally get off the rollercoaster of offering #allthethings by uncovering your true potential
You know the saying “dress for the job you want”?
IMO: the same thing applies to leadership: behave like the business owner/leader you want to be.
Whether you’re starting a business, leading a spin class, or managing a team – leadership skills are something that we ALL need, friend.
But like most things – it takes practice.
Major disclaimer: you probably won’t be good at it at first.
For perspective: I was given a team of three full-time staff and 45 part-time in my first leadership role- and I made some wild mistakes (becoming best friends with my team, not communicating expectations, doing everything myself because it was “easier”…🫠)
Like everything, I’ve learned from that (circa 2015) and through experience and education, have a Masters in Leadership- actually.
For studio owners who were formerly instructors, or have never had a team of freelancers/part-time employees before… I have the exact resource for you I wish I had back in the day: Christa Gurka.
Christa is the CEO and Founder of Pilates in the Grove and a Business Coach for studio owners and wellness entrepreneurs who’s been through it all.
She founded her studio during the first major financial collapse (in 2008)- and not only kept it going, but grew it to two locations and EIGHT figures in revenue. Now, she goes into the studio 10 hours a week if she wants with a well-oiled machine of a business- and teaches other women fitness studio owners her secrets as a business coach.
Here’s the deal: whether you EVER want to open a studio or not, we all need leadership skills. And for my budding entrepreneurs (pssst: instructors, you are an entrepreneur of sorts), you’ll need them more than ever as you build your business.
